Corentin obtained a bachelor's degree in Cellular, Molecular, and Physiological Biology (BCMP) in Angers, France, with the aim of pursuing a master's degree in Risks and Environment in Reims, France, specializing in ecotoxicology. Wishing to focus on environmental microbiology, he joined the Lazar laboratory to begin his doctoral research.

This research project is divided into three main areas. The first aims to study the taxonomic and functional diversity of bacterial communities found in abandoned underground mines in Quebec. The second focuses on the dispersal of these communities within an aquatic ecosystem connected to these mines. Finally, the third aims to determine whether these bacterial communities pose a potential pollution risk to surface ecosystems.
