Lucine Gonnet - MSc student

Food webs within old abandoned and flooded mines

Lucine obtained her bachelors degree in Life Sciences within a biology major from the University of Grenoble Alpes (France). Following her year of university exchange, carried out at the University of Quebec in Montreal, she joined Dr. Lazar's laboratory to begin her master's project.

This project will focus on microbial ecology of underground habitats, based on the study of the food webs that exist in the waters and biofilms of a former mica mine located in Quebec, now abandoned and flooded. This project will use cultural methods and isotopic labeling.

Lucine is co-supervised by Prof. Alison Derry (UQAM).
